Even the best performers in the world have coaches. John Wooden, one of the most respected coaches in history, didn’t just teach basketball — he taught players how to focus on what matters, build strong habits, and reach their potential.

That’s the kind of clarity and guidance Nav’s Business Credit Coaching offers, minus the sports.

What is Business Credit Coaching with Nav Prime?

Building business credit is one of the trickiest parts of growing a business — and one of the most important. For entrepreneurs juggling full-time jobs, side hustles, and everything in between, it can feel impossible to make sense of it all.

That’s why Nav’s new Business Credit Coaching, now included in the Expand tier from Nav Prime, is such a game-changer.

Nav's Business Credit Coaching gives small business owners access to personalized, one-on-one sessions with a dedicated business credit expert. Like Wooden, your coach helps you understand where you stand today — and how to get where you want to go tomorrow.

Here are a few common areas of focus for a coaching session:

Together, you’ll build a strategy tailored to your goals. Whether you're just starting your business or already earning steady revenue, coaching helps you move forward with clarity and purpose.

Why it matters: Guidance gets you there faster

A lot of small business owners we’ve talked to have said that the best thing they’ve done for their business was finding a mentor.

Just ask Fabian Curry, owner of Rated R Cleaning Services in Chicago. He runs a contracting business on the side while working full time for the city of Chicago. His side business brings in thousands of dollars each month. But even with solid revenue and experience from a past business, Fabian ran into a common challenge: navigating business credit on his own.

Fabian gave a coaching session a try — and it turned out to be more valuable than he expected.

"That’s what I need: someone saying ‘Do this, do that,’” Fabian says. His coach sent him a list of homework, which is what Fabian says was needed.

In just 15 minutes, his coach gave him clear, personalized steps: which net-30 vendors to apply for, how to tier up his credit profile, and even small branding tips like getting uniforms. "They give you information that otherwise you’d have to go look for,” Fabian notes. “There’s so much information out there, you don’t really know what to take in."

Business credit coaching helps you cut through the noise. Instead of guessing, you get a clear plan, expert guidance, and answers specific to your business. It’s like having a helping hand through a maze you’ve been trying to navigate blindfolded.

How it works

Using a business coach may be new for a lot of small business owners, but it’s straightforward at Nav. Let’s walk through the process of getting started with Business Credit Coaching.

Step 1: Get the Expand plan with Nav Prime

You’ll first need to sign up for Nav Prime and choose the Expand tier, which includes Business Credit Coaching.

If you’re already a Nav Prime member, you’ll want to make sure you are on the Expand tier. You can check which tier you’re on by logging into Nav, heading to the “Your Prime benefits tab,” and looking at the plan listed beside “Current plan” near the top of the page.

Step 2: Schedule a call

Check your email for a link in your to schedule your initial call with your business credit coach.

If you don’t have access to these emails, you can head to the same “Your Prime benefits tab” after you log in to Nav and scroll to the credit coaching box. Click “Schedule call” to create the event and add it to your calendar.

You’ll automatically get matched to one of Nav’s in-house business credit experts, and you’ll stick with them throughout your coaching journey.

Step 3: Meet your dedicated coach

In your first call, your coach covers foundational information about business credit (we don’t expect you to be an expert!). Your coach will also make sure you can connect to your business credit reports.

Your coach will give you work to do on your own before you meet again and will schedule the next call about 30 days in the future. You’ll meet with your coach once a month.

Step 4:  Get your personalized roadmap

You’ll get a tailored plan of action that you and your coach will walk through together, every step of the way. Our coaches are happy to focus on credit, your business financials, steps to get ready for funding — we can help you figure out what will be most helpful.

If you're ready to stop guessing and start growing, Business Credit Coaching is here to help you make the most of your Nav Prime membership. Because every business deserves a clear path forward.

Just like Wooden coached champions one play at a time, we’re here to help you build business credit one smart move at a time.
